Workshops

From October 2008 until January 2009 altogether 12 awareness raising workshops with 158 staff members and managers of community health and social service organisations on domestic violence against older women were carried out in Austria, Finland, Portugal and Italy. The aim of the workshops was to sensitize the participants for the issue and encourage them to take action when encountering violence against older women by providing proper tools and strategies to deal with this. The workshop duration was app. 4 hours and was delievered in an interactive way, using role plays and case studies.

Before carrying out the awareness raising workshops in the respective countries, national stakeholder workshops with national experts were conducted in order to introduce the results of the research phase and to receive feed-back for developing the awareness raising workshops.

Here you can find some pictures and further material concerning the half-day awareness raising workshop.

  • The pictures show scenes from the half-day awareness raising workshop.

Within the project Breaking the Taboo Two, this workshop will also be elaborated into a one day workshop for staff of health and social services organisations.
